How to play

Choose a method

For pole fishing, buy the 13 m match pole and select it in the tackle box. A pole float and elastic are fitted automatically. RMB places the rig; LMB ships it back. Play strong fish on the elastic and use N to net.

Open Q, then Tackle box, to build a float, running ledger or cage feeder rig. Each uses its own float, lead or feeder. Set float depth close to the depth shown with P. Fine line improves presentation but gives less fight control. Small hooks favour roach, cage feeders favour bream, larger hooks favour carp.

1. Find a swim

Select a venue, peg and bait. Maggots catch smaller species; boilies target carp. Snaggy pegs need careful side pressure.

2. Make your cast

Move over the water to aim. Hold the right mouse button to raise the rod, then release to cast toward your chosen spot. Watch the marker until a bite arrives.

3. Strike at the bite

Watch the float or tip for a bite, then press Z. Z picks the rod up automatically if it is on the stand. You can also quickly drag upward while holding the rod. You have five seconds. Striking before the bite spooks the fish.

4. Work the fish

Move the rod opposite the fish’s run. Stop reeling into a hard run and ease the drag. Lift and reel when the fish swims toward you. High tension for too long snaps the line; prolonged slack loses the hook.

5. Bring it to the net

Bring the fish within 3 metres. The net comes out automatically at 6 metres. Press N to land it once it is ready; larger fish need more playing. Every catch is released, earning XP and coins.

Practice and online play

Open this HTML file for a temporary 20-minute guest session. Guest progress is never saved. Sign in on an installed server for a permanent career. An installed PHP/MySQL server adds accounts, permanent journals and shared leaderboards. Online fights are checked and rewarded by the server. Closing the page abandons your current cast.

The rod is a shaded, tapered procedural first-person model so its eyes can follow every bend. Bridgewater uses a licensed canal photograph with its credit on the image credits page. Your original reference remains bundled. Other venues are illustrated placeholders.
